STANDARD ORTHO-K GLASS PROCESS – FOR FASTEST CORRECT GLASS APPLICATION

Applying a standard and appropriate Ortho-K prescription process will help doctors and refractive experts prescribe the right glasses in the fastest way, minimizing the need to change prescription glasses, there will be no patient condition. I have to change my glasses order 4-5 times to get the correct prescription again.

As noted by SEED Vietnam, about 95% of patients who prescribe SEED Ortho-K glasses according to the correct procedure will get a suitable prescription right from the first visit.

The following is the standard procedure for prescribing Ortho-K glasses in Vietnam that is being applied in many prestigious hospitals and clinics.

Step 1: Patient screening – Counseling patients to understand the Ortho-K method

In this step, the doctor/specialist will inquire about the patient’s eye condition, select the appropriate patient, and advise the patient on the Ortho-K method.

Step 2: Measure refractive error

The patient will have a refractive error (measurement of degrees).

Step 3: Corneal mapping

The doctor/specialist will take a map of the cornea using a specialized corneal mapping machine. This is a very important step in the Ortho-K prescription process so that the doctor/specialist can evaluate and give the appropriate prescription for the patient.

Step 4: The doctor examines the anterior and posterior part of the eye

The doctor/specialist uses a microscope (Slitlamp) to see if there are any problems that affect the wearing of Ortho-K lenses.

Step 5: Patient tries glasses and puts glasses

The patient will wear test glasses, evaluate the effect on the test glasses and then the doctor/specialist will prescribe glasses.

Step 6: Instruct the patient to put on and take off and care for Ortho-K glasses

Patients will be taught how to put on and take care of glasses.
